How Does the Backing Work?
A hook-and-loop fastening system has two mating surfaces. A patch with hook backing attaches to a compatible loop panel on the receiving item; if your product has a hook panel instead, the patch needs the corresponding loop side. The backing arrangement, panel dimensions and whether a mating panel is included should be written into the approved order specification.

2. Decide whether you need a mating panel
Some buyers already have compatible panels sewn onto their products. Others need a matching panel included so their garment factory can attach it. State which arrangement you are buying when requesting a quote. Also tell us if names or designs must be packed with their corresponding panels.
3. Approve the patch and panel together

Removable backing does not change the physical limits of embroidery. Very small names, fine strokes and tightly spaced letters can become difficult to read at the finished patch size.
