On a metal keychain the ring, hook, clip or slider is the component that carries the keys and attaches to a bag, belt loop or zip, and the body it is fitted to — webbing, fabric or leather — is what carries the brand mark. We quote the hardware your design needs and confirm its finish, its size and how it attaches, rather than claiming a metal process we do not run.
Hardware we assemble
Split rings, hooks, clips and sliders.
A split ring is the everyday closure for keys and charms, and the coil is checked so the ring stays closed. A hook or clip suits bags, loops and quick release, where the keychain is clipped on and off rather than threaded through. A swivel lets the charm spin without tangling the strap, and a slider — where the design uses one — can carry a laser or moulded logo in the plating colour you select. All of it is matched to the body and assembled here.
Finish & inspection
The closure is inspected, not just the charm.
Finish is matched across the set, so the ring, the body and the strap arrive looking like one product rather than three parts from different bins. Ring coil, clip and swivel closure, the point where the hardware meets the strap, finished size and weight, quantity and packing are all inspection points, because hardware is where a keychain fails first.
Where it is used
Where the hardware has to outlast the charm.
Hardware-led keychains are bought for bags and luggage, for belt loops and zip pulls, for premium merch and gift lines where the feel of the piece is the point, and for programmes where the metal is the visible design element. Because the hardware is selected to the design rather than cast in house, the exact part, its finish and the approved sample are confirmed before bulk and kept with the project record for reorders.
Before you order
What we need before this can be quoted.
- Artwork
- Vector artwork is ideal — AI, PDF, EPS or SVG with fonts outlined — and a high-resolution raster file also works. Send it with the product type, size, quantity, material, backing, packing requirement, application and the date you need the goods in hand.
- Sample
- A physical sample is produced and approved before bulk, and the approved sample becomes the production standard for that run and every reorder. Custom samples are usually chargeable, and by agreement the sample fee can be credited against the bulk order.
- Quantity
- Each product has its own standard MOQ, and for many custom items it starts at around 100 pcs. There is limited flexibility depending on the process, the artwork and how the order is put together, and below the standard MOQ the unit price may increase. The figure for your specification is confirmed during review.
- Colour
- Pantone is used as a production reference: thread colour card, PVC colour sample, material sample or a physical sample. Screens and materials never match exactly, so where colour is critical we work from the reference you supply and sign it off on the sample.
- Lead time
- Bulk production usually takes 7–12 days after artwork approval. Rush orders are accepted but confirmed case by case against capacity, material, process, artwork status, sample requirement, shipping method and the date you need it — so we do not promise a rush date before those are checked.
- Packing
- Individual packing, OPP or a custom bag, backer cards, barcode and SKU labels and carton marks as required — plus neutral and white-label packing where the goods ship straight into your own fulfilment line.
